Solo exhibition at Richard Saltoun Gallery Rome
The oil seeps through the thin material, staining multiple layers, which are then rearranged to create new readings of the archetypal imagery. In this series, atmospheric phenomena, physical gestures, and human figures are treated with equal significance. Each is rendered through the same quality of primary-coloured lines, emphasizing their shared role as protagonists within the composition. The movements that brought the works into being remain visible, while the reordering of layers introduces a sense of rhythm – suggesting multiple versions of a narrative.

This approach offers a visual reference to a circular conception of history, one marked by repetition and the potential for redress. The works evoke a sense of simultaneity – where before and after coexist within a single, fragile surface. By employing a consistent gestural vocabulary for both climatic events and the human body, Fugazza blurs distinctions between subject and environment, inviting a reading of the world where all elements are interdependent and equally vital.”
